Aquarium – ISO14001 Environmental Management System and Regulatory Compliance Audits

Blackbird conducted several internal ISO14001 EMS and environmental compliance audits at an aquarium located in the City of Vancouver, British Columbia. The scope of the work covered operations and functions (activities, products and services) such as operations and maintenance of tanks and other exhibits, food and beverage, gift shop, and animal care. The audit also covered aspects of the mobile educational program and program vehicle.

The objectives of the EMS audit were to:

• Determine if the aquarium’s EMS has been properly implemented and maintained
• Identify deficiencies and areas of potential improvement in the aquarium’s EMS
• Review the results of previous audits to determine whether previous audit findings were resolved.

The audit covered all components and elements of ISO 14001. The aquarium is registered under ISO 14001.
